I live out of town and needed repair on my recently deceased father-in-law's old wooden garage doors. I called from an ad in the phone book and to my surprise they were able to send someone that same day. My hour and a half drive to meet Dave the repairman was well worth it. He was pleasant, polite, explained the situation in understandable language and gave me various options. He worked for hours in the heat and humidity with little space between him and the garage doors and never a complaint. At 7:30p.m. that night I had a question of importance and the receptionist located him and he called me back immediately. My husband and I are most grateful for your company and especially for Dave in our time of sorrow and chaos last week.

First, I was told that your guys would show up sometime between 8 and 10 and would call to let me know they were or their way. Instead they just showed up at 8:00. more importantly, the whole reason I contacted you was my interest in a wooden garage door which are prominently displayed on your website. However, I learned immediately that that you do not have wooden doors. It would have been a time savings to your company if someone had taken 5 minutes to debrief me on my interest when I first called in.

I am satisfied with the work performed. However, I paid $563 to have two springs replaced. It seemed very high so I did some research afterwards and found that the cost ranged from $185 - $250. I wish I would have done my research ahead of time so that is my fault. Mike was very professional and did complete the job very quickly. In the past I have had good experience using home advisors....this is not one of them.

I was very pleased with my garage door repair. I like that the repairman was easily recognizable by his uniform, truck and name tag and that I was given his name in advance for my own protection. The broken cable was fixed without any sales pitch to replace other parts I didn't need. My only suggestion is to get a paper receipt. I never did get a copy on my Email, despite calling and asking for it.

Called on Monday afternoon, Mike Z was there Tuesday morning to give an estimate on our damaged door. Mike was on time, friendly, courteous, and knowledgable. Dave is a very personable guy. There were a couple of problems with the previous service call that he fixed: 1. The spring was not tight enough, 2. A part of the spring either was never tightened or had somehow loosened. I called because the cable had come off, which he fixed in addition to tightening the spring & securing whatever hadn't been. He pointed out some potential problems & fixes.The door sounds much better-tight, no noise.

I called Precision because the ad that was placed in the Yellow Pages stated that they could do custom garage doors. I called the number in the book and talked with a very nice lady, she also told me that it was possible to make a custom garage door. When the sale rep/ service tech came to give me a quote, he pulled out his brochures of factory made doors, none of which would fit my needs. Dave said he would go back to the office and that Precision Door would get back to me with a quote for the door that I requested. That very same afternoon I received a call from Dave telling me that they could not produce the door I requested.

The website looked very professional and the repairman called and arrived earlier and was very courteous. I declined the "extras" and opted for the better quality spring quoted at $169 installed. Someone should have indicated that it is $169 times two springs and then a $50 service charge for a total of $402. I called the manager Karen and was informed that the repair could be done with the cheaper springs......which the technician did without a complaint. I called back all the estimates I got yesterday to make sure they included BOTH springs and YES for $200 to $250 total with a TEN year warranty. Don't expect customers to know when you say $169 installed that it means twice that and another $50 for service. Sorry for the one star guys. When someone tells me its a broken spring.....I assume its one broken spring.
