Called on Monday afternoon, Mike Z was there Tuesday morning to give an estimate on our damaged door. Mike was on time, friendly, courteous, and knowledgable. He answered all of the questions I had, and told me a few things I wouldn't have thought to ask. It was a very good experience. He also did not try to upsell us unnecessarily, which I appreciated.

Dave is a very personable guy. There were a couple of problems with the previous service call that he fixed: 1. The spring was not tight enough, 2. A part of the spring either was never tightened or had somehow loosened. I called because the cable had come off, which he fixed in addition to tightening the spring & securing whatever hadn't been. He pointed out some potential problems & fixes.The door sounds much better-tight, no noise.

I called Precision because the ad that was placed in the Yellow Pages stated that they could do custom garage doors. I called the number in the book and talked with a very nice lady, she also told me that it was possible to make a custom garage door. When the sale rep/ service tech came to give me a quote, he pulled out his brochures of factory made doors, none of which would fit my needs. Dave said he would go back to the office and that Precision Door would get back to me with a quote for the door that I requested. That very same afternoon I received a call from Dave telling me that they could not produce the door I requested.

The website looked very professional and the repairman called and arrived earlier and was very courteous. I declined the "extras" and opted for the better quality spring quoted at $169 installed. Someone should have indicated that it is $169 times two springs and then a $50 service charge for a total of $402. I called the manager Karen and was informed that the repair could be done with the cheaper springs......which the technician did without a complaint. I called back all the estimates I got yesterday to make sure they included BOTH springs and YES for $200 to $250 total with a TEN year warranty. Don't expect customers to know when you say $169 installed that it means twice that and another $50 for service. Sorry for the one star guys. When someone tells me its a broken spring.....I assume its one broken spring.

I appreciate your feedback. On your particular door you have a two spring system. This was not mentioned by you when you booked the appointment. We can certainly replace one broken spring on a two spring system, but we do not recommend it. It is very likely that the other spring may break within a short time, due to it helping the spring that was weak or broken. I am also glad that you checked around and found that the prices we charge for your repair were in the same ball park. I believe your invoice total was $262.95.

I was very pleased with the repair process from setting up the appointment on the phone to the end of the repair. Mike G was not only on time he was early and walked me through every step of the repair he was going to do. He explained in full the upgrades I could do on our door. He taught me a few things that I could do to prolong the life of my springs and cable. Our door was up and running within an hour. I agree that our service technician was only there for a short time. The trolley on the operator was not engaged or locked in, which he fixed for you. Our service call is relatively inexpensive for professional on time service.

Bakari was professional in all aspects of the repair. Doing a good repair involved his doing and sometimes redoing his work to make sure all aspects of the door functioned properly.
