Not all doors qualify for the credit. Raynor® Garage Doors have been tested and the following doors have been verified to qualify as an Eligible Building Envelope Component under the Energy Improvement and Extensions Act of 2008 (H.R 1424) signed into law October 3, 2008. Tax Credits are available for years 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 but NOT 2008.
Back in February of 2009, President Obama passed the American Recovery Act of 2009 which contained incentive for homeowners to make energy efficient improvements to their homes. Taxpayers may receive a tax credit of up to 30% of the cost of qualified energy efficient improvements performed through 2010 up to a total of $1,500.
Please see your tax professional or review information provided by the Internal Revenue Service IRS.gov regarding this law, rules and regulations regarding the credit.
Precision Door Service will provide each eligible homeowner with a Homeowner’s Certification form from Raynor verifying that one of the above doors was installed.
So if you own your home and it is your principal residence and you wish to install your new garage door in 2009 or 2010, please consider reviewing the Energy Tax Credit with your tax professional to see how the Energy Tax Credit can benefit you personally.
